“Dr. Matt” is from a small town in  rural Connecticut. He completed medical school at the University of Connecticut, followed by a pediatric residency in Portland, Maine. After residency, he accepted an opportunity to join Baylor College of Medicine to work in Africa for almost two years, taking care of children with HIV. 

Working in Africa had a big impact on Dr. Matt– he became passionate about the value of public health principles in caring for pediatric patients and decided to complete an additional residency in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, earning a Master of Public Health degree along the way.  In 2015, Dr. Matt accepted a clinical pediatric opportunity in Colorado and has called Colorado home ever since. 

Dr. Matt’s favorite part of pediatrics is getting to know young people and their families. He also loves walking alongside parents and their infants during those exciting (albeit exhausting!) first few years of life. There is so much growth during that time, for babies and parents alike! Dr. Matt also enjoys working with older children and adolescents struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, or low self-esteem. He believes all children deserve the opportunity to discover that inherent strength that resides in us all, in order to reach the happiest and healthiest version of themselves.

Outside of work, Dr. Matt enjoys taking advantage of all that Colorado has to offer – hiking, traveling, sight-seeing, live music, and creating new memories with his wife, two kids, and their dog, Arlene.
